Test cutting with a custom nodachi from neighborhood swords. It's 3mm at the yokote, thus very light and thin. I tested it on upper arm and thigh difficulty targets and it managed to cut through with the difficult cuts.
It has some flaws, which includes a wavy blade spine that's "generally straight" with several curves combined. The tip and kissaki was also not fully sharpened, and the tip is slightly round. The menuki has pointy ends that cut into fingers. The worst among all was the faulty shaping of the cutting portion just behind kissaki, which was suddenly narrowed by careless grinding.
But the spring temper held all through my failed cuts (not shown in video, LOL), and the edge held through the session too. So this one is an acceptable practice sword at its price point.
