Can anyone tell me where to get decent beaters for around the $100 AU mark? Does such a sword exist?
It seems that the US gets the best deals with $50 (US) katana with free shippig from musashi!
I've tried global gear on ebay and keep getting sniped at the last minute. Their G-900 series are pretty sweet - i am a proud owner of one, but it burnt a sizeable hole in my pocket.
is there a cheaper solution?

Snipe or be sniped. I got a couple of their G100 series when the first came out for about $35 + post each. They took some stalking. I can't suggest much else. If you want to buy a Hanwei or something else proper you should DEFINITELY be contacting Mike (just 'Mike') here at the forum. He'll take good care of you.

I really don't envy you guys over there. It seems like such a hassle just to enjoy a good hobby. =/

But we've got such an awesome country, it's worth it.
I'm five minutes away from four REAL beaches, with white sand and lovely water -not your crummy black dirt and polluted beaches. And they're never crowded.
Thanks, -Tajima

You need a lot more than swords to kill the stuff that lives there.

Its going to be hard to get a decent sword for $100 here in Aus, as shipping cuts a big portion into that and apart from GlobalGear there isnt anyone else bringing in enough at a time (ie. container loads) to bring the shipping down to a level where you can sell em for $100.. That said you could self import, itll hurt in that youll pay more than the cost of the sword in shipping but its an option. If you go this way id find a firendly dealer whos willing to pull the sword apart and check it for you first, as you really dont want to be sending it back for a refund.. Also check out some of the dealers that sell on ebay from China (ala ryansword), shipping from China to Aus isnt quite as bad as from Europe or the US... Thanks for the plug Brenno
