Hello Everybody, I need your respected opinions. I am looking at buying a new katana, I am trying to decide between the Ronin Swords Bushi and a Paul Chen at around the same price range. Can you give me any advice on which is the better choice, i.e. cutting, construction, and any other pros and cons on each company. I already have 2 Chen swords, a Shinto and an Orchid so I am familiar with the Hanwei line. Thanks for your help.

At that price point, I would go with the Bushi. You get a blade made from laminated, folded steel, your choice of Ito and Sageo color, and your choice of Tsuba and Minuki. By the way, the Ito is silk.
I have not yet received it, but I have my name on one of the Kokoro Ichi project Katana made by Roninswords. I'll be posting a review once I have it
I have a PC Bushido and I do not regret the purchase, but I would have gone with Roninswords had I known about the company at the time.

Depends on how long you have to wait, Ronin swords will take weeks VS Hanwei will take a week probably. Ronin swords you get to pick everything about it like Vedearduff said and with the Hanwei you get what you see on there site.

It's not the wait that bothers me it's the anticipation. Any way I won't get to see it for 4 months after it arrives, going to Texas for telephone storm damage. I'm more interested in performance and quality. My Shinto cuts pretty good and the Orchid is good for waza. I'm looking for one that's good for both. Thanks for the replies.
