I've never seen anyone talk about this before. But I've been looking for budget alternatives to the classic Cossack Shasqua sword. I have a shasqua of my own, but I've been looking at the idea of getting a second or perhaps recommending to others a cheaper alternative to an expensive sword. I've been looking online and found this... This is Imacasas Sable machete (28 inche). The overall shape of it is very similar to a shasqua saber. And you can get it for under 25 dollars! I've considered buying one and modifying it to be more fancy. What are your guys recommendations on modification.

Hmm, interesting...
I'm iffy on the grip, but I'd have to try it out first before deciding. I only have Hanwei's awkward repro and one from Kizlyar that's a bit low-end, but I figure if the shashka was originally a field knife, a machete like this can only be so far off.
