This is just me talking as a fellow forum member, I'm not wearing my moderator hat here.
In the West, we have adopted the belief that the customer is always right. Originally, this was a mantra for Customer Service employees to motivate them to go over the top to ensure an excellent customer experience.
In time, this phrase was coopted by the consumer. At first spoken, then insisted, then shouted in the face of Customer Service folks still trying to do their best within the limitations of their role. Today, we even have this attitude towards small businesses, ebay sellers, and even our fellow forum members who sell on our Classifieds here. What began as a mantra for excellence by busineses has become a toxic battle cry from consumers.
Let us please remember that business owners, customer service representatives, and other people in general are, indeed, other people. They have all the hopes and dreams, faults and flaws that come with being human. Moreover, the entire world has not adopted our hostile mindset. It can be confounding and hurtful to experience some of us even on our best days.
So, am I siding the vendor here? No, not really. I have no personal experience with their products so I have no place to comment. Am I siding our forum members then? No, I encourage anyone with legitimate grievances to post details or PM the vendor to reach a resolution all parties are happy with, but don't feel we have represented ourselves well in this thread so far.
I don't see separate sides. We are all a part of the same hobby and community. All I hope for is that we can be civil to each other, and civility is not too much to ask from either consumers or buyers.
