Wow, that 1070 on the master sword sure chewed up the 9260 on the apoc broad sword. I kind of wasn't expecting that to happen. Maybe I should just grab evils bane for the zomboids.
BUT-
I believe that Master sword from budk is actually made by windlass.
I've had dozens of windlass blades and they still make up the bulk of my armory. I haven't found a bad heat treat yet. Even the very thin whippy blades can really deliver the goods!
About 15 odd years ago i felled a massive tree with a windlass ranger sword...a really narrow whippy stabby like blade more in common with a rapier than a cleaver.

I love windlass. I was honestly really impressed with the results of the video myself. Everything I've found said windlass is doing all of these. They're chunky but impressive.
I really wish windlass would put out a greatsword.

I have found a few reports of APOCs being very soft, might be a heat treat issue on this one, normally they both should be in the low 50HRC. The Mastersword also has a thicker edge profile which makes a lot of difference, but you can see the APOC already has some deep gouges, so I tend to think it might be on the softer side.

I'm not familiar with apoc at all. I've seen a lot of similar designs that were all stainless, I assumed this one might be but didn't catch it they mentioned it or not

The APOC line is a CAS Iberia/Hanwei subsidiary and made in 9260, so they are "real" for lack of a better word. According to the information available both should be around the same hardness soit's very likely either a heat treat issue on the APOC or down to edge geometry. The APOC has a very thin edge compared to the Master Sword, so I would not say one is better than the other, just look at the weight, one is close to 2lbs, the other close to 4lbs so the Master Sword has a lot more metal in the blade.

I think a lot of the weight in the zelda sword is in the brass guard and fittings

Bonus points if you ever show the master sword disassembled Thanks for subscribing and liking the videos. I'll see what I can do, it's got an internal nut so it should be easy to disassemble.

That looks neat but I'm not familiar with that site /blade maker. Not sure how we know, but I was told on here it's windlass that makes the budk master sword. We know windlass nails their heat treat. They make a tough usable sword. I hear it's windlass that will make the battle ready lord of the rings swords- it's like my wish come true from like 6 years ago, affordable battle ready lotr swords to cut stuff with, mess around in the woods etc. It'll be great.

Looks ok, my main concern is the hilt material being aluminum and zinc. It's too similar in build to the display ones carbon steel blade or not. Price seems a little high too for what is offered, comparatively the Windlass is only $100 more and much better put together, significantly lighter and I'd feel safe to assume much more durable.

Very durable. Shadiversity tested it and it beat the tar out, tore up the gus trim atrim apoc sword.
Budk mastersword is good to go for hard use.

I've heard pretty good things about minikatana that being said I'm not a huge fan of their designs. This one is neat but I definitely wouldn't choose it over a purnal sword. And as heavy as it is I love my windlass one
