Recently I came across some unusual swords; so-called tibetan swords on Himalayan Imports and korean swords on Kult of Athena. The swords look good (on the pics, hope they look good in hand too) but I wonder how accurate they are, compared to real swords from these two cultures.
I didn't find much information on the net, I only know that old Korean swords look like katanas but a bit more straight and tibetan swords (those I've found, at least) were 32'' and less swords, with a straight blade, one or two edge and a single-hand handle. Overall, little information and it's hard to judge anything after seeing only 3-4 pics on the internet.
So, if anyone here knows more than I do or has anything to share on the subject (korean and tibetan swords, and their replicas), I would be interested to hear about it.

Anything from HI you can be assured that unless they say otherwise is going to be an authentic weapon from the himalayas region. They are all made by kamis in Nepal and have a great reputation. Try the HI forum over at www.bladeforums.com they usually have great deals on their weapons.

Thank you for those informations people. From what I have seen, so far, the swords I have mentionned seem like modern interpretations of older blades. The korean swords seem respectful of the look of older blades (without looking exactly like the real thing ...), but the tibatan swords look very different from ''real'' tibetan swords (but they also look damn good and functionnal).
