for my wedding anniversary, my wife want to buy me the hiro nakamura katana. who would or wouldn't take the chance to buy that one? i am a fan of heroes and it looks good but, i hesitate because i do not know if it is a cutter or wall hanger. and, by the way, she wants to buy as a gift so, i cannot say, i don't want it i better want this or that one you see. so, please, your advice about that one, please ;D www.globalgear.com.au/prod3059.htm

It says it is a prop replica, but does have a carbon steel blade. You can probably cut with it as long as it is sharp. If you skeptical you could have her buy the pieces like the ray skin and the leather and find a tsuba that looks the same and get the menuki and make one your self.

This video may help you make a decision.
Looks pretty nice actually, but it is something you could probably do custom and get away with possibly a better sword.

You may want to take a look at the SBG link below. www.sword-buyers-guide.com/heroes-sword.htmlIn the text, there is a link to another katana on the GlobalGear web site that is based on a folded blade and costs less than the one in the link you posted. They also mention one that is clay tempered, but you have to be a member to purchase it. Vernon

As far as I know the Hiro Nakamura katana used in the series is actually just a modified practical katana? At the beginning of series 2 where they are in the past one can also spot quite a bit of Hanwei armour on the warriors. So if you want a cutting Hiro N you might just want to get a practical katana with the custom menuki made?

I dont think I could do a exact match, but I think I can probably do a good variation on the Tsuka and the tsuba is nothing special. Just ideas in my head at the moment. I was going to sell the sword as is but it has become very clear it isnt worth nearly what has been put into it.
