Refund issued and relief realized.
Unfortunate situation as the folks working in the forge that OTC employs clearly are skilled craftsmen.
Not going to make the mistake of ignoring red flags and taking a gamble next time. Lesson learned.

Yeah, it's a shame as there are clearly skill workers behind OTC's contracts. Not even sure if OTC directly employs them, could be just a middleman to get them the contracts from the West. I can't imagine where Ansari is going with this. Is he tired of having a legitimate business and just content himself with scamming a few thousand dollars from buyers as the end of this venture?

As someone who spent some years in a country that, to euphemize, had few economic resources with the broad swath of the population having close to none, I can confidently say that in such a social context... many will do a surprising amount of work for even a small return in the world of scamming. I don't mean to comment one way or another on the thread, simply to indicate that there are indeed plenty of people out there, from socio-economic contexts of relative paucity or even otherwise, who don't need a big return to motivate a scam.

Hi, I would like to help raise the reputation of Shahzeb Ansari from OTC / Erik Steelcrafts in India. He has certainly made mistakes in the past but he is working to rebuild his reputation. He is still very young and he has learned. He kept his word by sending me a batch of good swords for reviews. It's all in his honor to have done it. He has promised to continue his association with me and I know he will not disappoint me.

I am interested in a few of his planned swords. I do want to see them sold through a vendor if possible. Might be the only way to get around some past negative transactions.

I was impressed with the Single Edged Viking Sword that they made for Balaur Arms when they first came out (even though not the steel they first claimed). If there stuff is still that good, I would get 1 or 2 of the new models. But not directly through him.

he could go a long way to repairing his reputation by sending out free swords (for reviews) to all the people he wronged.

Shahzeb Ansari is the young son (22 years old) of M.Z. Ansari from S.B. International. They went bankrupt after a 3-year lawsuit from Darksword Armory for copying and selling their models. They then created OTC and started working with KOA. It didn't go very well in this story as we all know. Shahzeb started a company under another name of Erik Steelcrafts and sends its catalog of products (80% from Balaur Arms) to future customers. The problem is that he has very below average business practices. Ignoring customers, giving bad time frames, not responding to messages, lying to everyone, stealing designs. And he always wants to be paid in advance for all contracts. He is good at making swords but even more so at irritating people. As you know, he is banned from almost all popular forums or social medias groups, and its not without reason.
I concluded with him that if he sent me some samples, that I could do reviews and help publicize his products and also use my voice in the hobby to enhance his lost reputation through the community. I received the swords (not without almost having to fight to keep his word) and did what was expected of me, until I realized how good this young man was to lie to everyone and make them angry. A sword even broke only when it fell to the ground. I mentioned it because I'm an honest reviewer. He was not happy. And knowing him, I knew he wasn't going to replace her. He's a liar. Always liying to me. I distanced myself from him. If you research this man, you will rarely find anything positive. It's unfortunate unfortunately. He had a lot of potential. He is in debt with many clients.
I also never received matching scabbards for these swords. I also doubt he is making them (own opinion). Never saw any pictures of scabbards from the shop. I think he have them made by a other company.
