Got an Ensifer feder, and it's interesting that part of the schilt extends through the quillon and is peened in order to attach it securely. At least from other examples I've seen, this isn't terribly common, and I wonder why. It seems like a good idea.

I had a Chlebowski with that feature. Solid as a rock. But it's a difficult thing to do well so adds cost.
