I think that is what it says it is; a soldering furnace. It might work for HTing though.
Best off making a dedicated forge, I think.

Might be OK to heat-treat knives.
Personally, I think it looks old enough to not screw around with. I might be paranoid, but when working with flammable substances, I want my fittings and valves to be new and squeaky clean.

Nope, those things are not useable for forging. Don't get quite hot enough.
Besides, that one is missing the chimney and the lining is completely shot. Not to mention that the lining is asbestos. And that you cannot find replacement parts.

Thanks for the info. I kinda figured I would be better off just making my own, but thought Id ask anyway On another note though I just picked up an small track anvil so at least thats another step closer
