Just got a pair of these. My first impression was "not to shabby". For around $80 each and $16 shipping on the pair I was not expecting super high quality but these daggers were well above my expectations. Everything was tight. Polish on finial and guards is good. The nut on the finials are a bit proud. The guard is very thick...twice as thick as my RK arming sword. The grip is a hard rubber injection molded affair, but is comfortable, at least for me. Now for the blade. Machining marks are visible on the bevels in a tiger stripe sort of way... not unpleasing unless you demand high polish. The fullers had slightly more pronounced machining marks and they were slightly misaligned from the ridge at the end of the blade. It will cut paper although a little jaggedly right out of the box. I killed a couple Coke bottles. These cuts were also a bit jagged. The blade will definitely need a bit of a touch up. POB is about a finger width behind the guard. The blade seems lively. Even my wife likes it! The scabbard is heavy duty and very well constructed...Way beyond what I expected with an $80 buck BudK special. Overall I am very satisfied. I will do some more cutting and will report back if there are any catastrophic systems failures! During clean up, I noticed that the ridge line at front of the blade was slightly off center and did not line up with the tip. This suggests that the bevels are not quite concentric. So far this is the only real flaw I have found.
I did not mention that the guard to blade fit is very good, better than my RK.
So considering that this dagger is only $80, I can live with the flaw.
