Hi all sorry to bother you, I wanted to get some advice on an issue I've been having. I placed an order for a left hand A&A sword about 4 years ago now. That eventually changed into a semi-full-custom rapier eventually. I fully admit to not knowing quite what I wanted. But contact has been sparse. Very, very sparse. The most important thing here though is, I have paid off the entire sword prior to the start of construction. All $3,500.00 of it. I was told when I hit them up on Facebook this February they'd get started maybe late March, early April. That was the last I heard from them. I emailed them last week asking for a time update and heard nothing.
I really don't want to be /that guy/ and I know COVID has thrown everything out the window but even if I got a reply of "it'll be another 1 year+" I just would like to know at the very least as a courtesy. I know they're still in production because I even bought the very first "real" sword I fell in love with (German Branch Sword) along with a spear and dagger from them with no problems whatsoever.
Has anyone else had experience with their custom shoppe? I am wondering if this is normal and I should just grin and bear it or what I should do? I really don't want to be the rude customer or burn any bridges, but it is getting to the point I can't just ignore giving them all this money for no updated whatsoever. I welcome any advice on what to do from this point. Thank you!

I would give them a call to see the status. Probably the best bet as of right now.
Everyone is working on the floor to fulfill orders I am told. So just keep trying to contact them

(612) 331-6473
A lot of the staff are busy with the faire season but we can bet someone will answer the phone.

So, if you emailed last week, they may not have seen the mail yet. I was having a conversation with them that suddenly went quiet; then I got a follow-up from the office manager that said the production manager was out of town, and he would respond when he got back. I'm guessing that he handles most email communication, so maybe once he gets back you'll hear something?

Did you try sending them a message via their facebookpage?

I've tried messaging them on FB to be told email is more reliable, then after emailing them and getting no response, just calling them. I think phone is the most reliable method of getting in contact with A&A.

Call them. I have a custom item in process there and last time I called Craig Johnson answered the phone himself. Just call.

Did you ever end up getting ahold of them? They've been ignoring my emails for 6 weeks now. I don't understand how you run a business like that.
The fact that you've been trying to get a sword made for *4 years* really makes me question whether I want to buy something from them at all, to be honest.

Oh sorry completely forgot about this thread. I eventually called and got ahold of Craig. They're trying but there's a problem with logistics right now. Steel is barely getting in, and there's staff shortages right now, they're working as hard as they can. If you call, they will let it go to voicemail and call back if it's important, otherwise they are too busy with commitments for production pieces. Hope that helps, it's not an ideal situation but I have faith in them.
