I was eyeing that thing for something like 12 years I think off and on just because I'd never seen anything like it before. It feels so much lighter in the hand than I expected it to be what with such a large pommel.

I have some experience with longswords and a tiny amount with arming swords when I did a little hema like 12 years ago but the Doge is so light and nimble that its crazy. Even with my flabby out of shape body it take almost no effort to move that thing! I just don't know how to use it! If anyone knows, what schools or systems would be applicable to Doge?

Of the Chinese swords though, probably the Song Hand Dao followed by the Miao Dao. That guy is a freaking beast! A tad heavy and a little difficult to control but I love the simple, brutal design. I've been eyeing the Yan Ling to but that will likely have to wait till next year.

The worst one, to me at least, is easily the CS Polish Saber. I kind of knew it wasn't going to be a stellar performer when I got it from the reviews and consensus I read, but I found it aesthetically pleasing so went with it. It's my example of a crowbar sword and I acutely nicked the blade somewhat when I did it's only cut. The weight though off my swing and stuck a nail in the small wood table I use for a stand. I do find it odd thought because all my other CS swords handle just fine for me. Still love the looks of it though.
