Wrapping tatami with fabric makes test cutting harder, but how much harder? In order to find out I cut the legs off a pair of worn out pants and used that to wrap the tatami mat.

How sharp are the swords? In my experience, as soon as fabric comes into play, a truly sharp, highly polished edge is needed.

Thank you. The grossmesser is very sharp (the previous owner had it sharpened), while the longsword and langmesser are not as sharp.
