Hi Folks. Here it is, Artemis: Dream Window; Abode of the Green Fairy My last 4 months work, and the most challenging piece I've made to date. I'm very pleased to have been able to realise this dreaming. Part of the design inspiration for this sword came from Swiss and German Bastard Swords of the 16th Century, which had loops which came up from the ring guard to protect the back of the hand, predecessors of more famous basket hilt and rapier styles. Everything was hand crafted. All metal parts are stock removed from pieces of steel. No casting, no 3D printing. :-D Video Tour now available for Patreon Members (Options from $3) www.patreon.com/fablebladeswww.fableblades.com/Artemis.htmlSpecification: Weight: 1387g (3.06lb) Length Oaverall: 1088mm (42.83") Blade Length: 868mm (34.17") Blade Width: 41.1mm @ Shoulder> 29.3mm Waist > 40.4mm Forte > 25mm Node > 14.3mm at 3" from tip Blade Thickness: 5.6mm (0.220") @ Ricasso > 3.95mm (0.155) Node > 2.85mm (0.112) at 2" from tip Grip Length: 142mm (5.59") Guard Span: 253mm (9.96") Point of Balance: 76mm (3") from shoulder Blade Node of Percussion: 54.7cm (21.5") from shoulder Hilt node: 55mm (2.2") behind guard Materials: Blade: 9260 High Carbon Steel. Oil Quenched then tempered twice to Rc ~52 Grip: Gaboon Ebony (Diospyros Sp.) Scabbard: Poplar core with Bovine leather over Hilt, scabbard and belt hardware sculptures: stock removed by hand from steel

Man, you really out did yourself this time. I don't know how either, you were already working at a God like capacity. Yet here you are, finding a way to improve on that even

It was a cool but crazy concept which came to me and I was pleased to be able to refine and execute it. I do enjoy making such inspired creations. Still haven't sold my mushroom sword though haha www.fableblades.com/Gnome.html

Thank you very much for sharing this delightful work of art. It radiates beautiful inspiration, and absolute technical competence, in equal measures. Its my pleasure to share it. Its a shame I can only distribute widely in digital form. I hope it makes a difference to some folks in whatever way. Hopefully something unique and memorable to live on beyond my time. I appreciate that evaluation of the balance of technical execution and art. Its a shame to me when I see great craftsmen simply replicating historical styles. Swords were always art and pushing new frontiers, and that mustn't stop.
