I never minded my ski doo helmet. It was necessary unless you wanted cold wind to the eyes the entire time. Mine had this neat defrosting feature using these heated coils. It was my fav helmet
Apparently even a well made sallet hinders vision tho, which is a shame cause its exactly the helmet I want.
Edit: feel free to speak of motorcycle helmets and stuff too. Any kind of helmet. This is now a helmet thread

I chose a kettle style helmet for armour. No vision nor hearing restrictions. The flared out skirt acts as a visor protecting from the sun/rain, and most importantly deflects whatever outward from my neck and neck base, shoulders to some extent. I had a worker pruning a tree that I was helping. As the work was overhead and limbs were falling I deciding just maybe I should dawn the helmet. The dude couldn’t resist and dropped a mango on my head. Other than the noise I was unaware of it. The rim deflected the mango away completely. The only time I find discomfort in the design is if I lie down or try to sleep in it. It’s 14 ga. and has overlapping bands adding to its strength. I have never regretted my choice.

Where did you get your helmet from? I might look into kettle style. I don't care for the bar that goes across my face with the Norse style, as it seems to collect steam from my breath. Better than a cut to the face I guess

Hey pgandy, you just double posted. Was there an aftershock? 😏 Thanks. I received two notices of a post from Dijjinja and in my hurry answered both without checking.

Does it cost you a lot to ship down to where you are?

Does it cost you a lot to ship down to where you are? An arm and leg. I can count on my final cost being 2-3 times the vendor’s asking price. 😒

With the weight of plate armour shipping cost, both US and international, significantly jump. Sometimes it costs more than triple the price.

Nobody sold their sword for $20 and there was no mention of aliens at all. Not very historical.
