Wow. Just wow. This new sword is a beauty. LKC Snow PeakI wonder how it compares to the Gale Wind. Specs wise, the SP has a slightly longer blade (+3cm) but a lesser total length of 96cm (-1cm) compared to the GW. Weight is basically identical. PoB is slightly further in the SP which is also 5mm/0.5mm broader and thicker at the tip. I guess they both feel the same in handling due to the SP having a more distant PoB to compensate the extra blade length and weight of the tip, which also would grant a better blade presence and some additional bite on the cut. I would like to know from someone who has it, possibly both. Aesthetic is great here, quality same wrap and vegan leather scabbard, with a nice fuller on the blade, but I prefer the GW guard as far as the look goes. Thoughts?

I like it. Guard and pommel look a little squared off for me, would have liked to see a bit more rounding on the corners, but I do really like the aesthetic.
I see they also finally have a willow leaf dao model, which I'm excited about.

My wallet likes the lower cost of the GW, though both are very reasonably priced. I think my bare hands would appreciate the cord-wrapped grip of the GW over the ray skin on the GW. Plus, I just really like the look of a cord-wrapped grip. The fittings of the GW look very nice, though, and the fuller gives the blade a bit of panache. Either would be a nice sword to have.

I wish the rayskin handle and the scabbard was black instead of white. Black and silver would look great on this jian and would help hide stains!
The ace of spades guard is my favorite and I also wish it had a ricasso like many Old Republic era jian. The Snow Peak is a really great looking and I can't wait to see the reviews for this one!

Handle is easy to dye in black. Scabbard needs some skill for a good repaint job.

And if you dig the white grip but fear stains, the LK Chen folks recommended Scotch Guard to me.
