Hello everyone! Have two new acquisitions to add to the collection. The first is an Ottoman Kilic with a late 17th/early 18th century blade, quite rare with a fuller. The fuller caused some debate over the age of this sword, some thought it could be modern, but the two experts I trust most on Ottoman swords both agree it is older. The horn is rhino, it is a robust sword. Incredibly difficult to bring out the pattern, only showed really when wet and wiped away nearly with a paper towel. After talking through it with a few people this sometimes is just the feature of wootz swords. Up close of the yelman, sharpened on the reverse side. The second piece is truly a piece of art. I intend on doing a writeup on this sword eventually. It is an Osborn & Gunby Warranted Light Company 1803. Best blue/gilt now in my collection. Unsure yet of the date of the arms, looking into it more, but likely post 1816. Enjoy! Nearly complete with my MA in military history!
