My friend Stephen and I had some fun this weekend cutting bottles and cartons with a Dane axe (called "Viking battle axe" in pop culture), an Oakeshott type XVI arming sword, a naval cutlass, a Chinese heng dao, and two katanas. This calls back to a pumpkin cutting session we had last Halloween, with a longsword, a half-and-a-half sword, a German lange messer, a gigantic Chinese miao dao, and some archery with my son.

Nice! We need more videos like this. It doesn't matter if you are an expert or beginner, sharing your enthusiasm of the hobby is much appreciated!

Love to see cutting tests done and what people use, very interesting to see a dane axe instead of just swords to. What brands and such were all the weapons?

Love to see cutting tests done and what people use, very interesting to see a dane axe instead of just swords to. What brands and such were all the weapons? Thanks for the commentary and sorry for the late reply. The Dane Axe is a Cold Steel one, extremely affordable and a lot of fun. The arming sword is MAA Cold Steel arming sword, the handle is rather meh for the lack of distal taper, but after I sharpened it, it still cut. The Tang Dao is from LK Chen. And the two katanas are sent to me by United Cutlery for review, which I did earlier this year. They are Shikoto Hidden Samurai katana and Sokojikara Demon Warrior katana. The cutless is a simplified Dutch klewang by Condor. Later in the pumpkin cutting session, we used a SBG store Miao Dao, a Viktor Berbecucz competition cutting longsword, a custom Hanwei Tinker bastard sword, and a Cold Steel MAA messer.
