For whatever reason I've never been all that drawn to Bowie knives even though I'm a sucker for westerns and frontier stories. I've got a CS Trail Master which I've always been a little "meh" on, and a Ka Bar which is kind of Bowie lite. When I first saw this Damascus Bowie ... ... I liked the narrow lines and the beefy grip but skipped on by because "Damascus" doesn't tend to trip my trigger. But the blade kind of grew on me and I kept coming back to it. Finally, I ordered it. I used KOA's sharpening service so it came quite sharp. I like the ornamentation and the Damascus swirls are kind of mesmerizing and fun to look at. It's well done as far as I can tell. The only brand indication I can find is "Rite Edge" on the sheath's snaps. Made in Pakistan so I'm wondering if it's Devil's Edge or an early incarnation. I find it cuts a little better against my rug dummy than the Trail Master but nothing like a similar sized kukri can do. I would rate it a very good thruster, though. I'm not sure if it's really "me" but it's interesting enough that I'll probably keep it around. A guy probably ought to have at least one Damascus blade in his collection.

Very cool. The pattern has a nice sophistication about it.

I feel the same about damascus--I have 1 pretty one but no need for more. It's a shame that more Pakistani makers don't make similar knives in carbon steel with an antique finish of some sort. I just don't associate damascus with the wild west.
