Glad that you finally are getting your sword. Congratulations. Thanks. I'm too drained to even open the box right away. Probably get to it in a couple of hours and do some sort of review in another thread. And of course nobody at UPS can explain anything about what happened. Oh well whatever. Thanks for your support

FINALLY! Hallelujah! Get used to that happening with the post office. They’re good people but they are government employees. Looking forward to seeing your sword and what you think. Take your time though, I see things now that I didn’t when I was a novice. Still think of myself as one btw.

As a government employee myself, I am horribly offended that you would...nope, can't even complete the sentence.
Congrats MichaelRS. Glad everything worked out. Hope you love the sword!

Really ridiculous that they would track it as delivered to the post office and then ACTUALLY deliver it 6 days later. PFT!

Dude, Post Office, UPS, FedEx, DSL, etc, etc. They all have issues.

Dude, Post Office, UPS, FedEx, DSL, etc, etc. They all have issues. They're welcome to their issues, just don't involve ME 😄 But yeah, I hear you. It's just that, and seriously, in six decades, I really don't recall any letter or package anyone has ever sent me, by any means, having being lost or stolen. But I just don't understand this at all. It goes here, they scanned it. It goes there, they scanned it. They deliver it, they scan it. Unless you are purposely screwing with something, how do you scan something as delivered and it not be delivered... only to be delivered nearly a week later. Obviously those are all rhetorical questions and points, but it's unnecessarily frustrating. And the real frustrating part is there's no individual or chain of command you can talk to to find out what happened or complain to and fix it so it doesn't happen again. Oh well. I'm just going to take my blood pressure medicine and try to forget about it. If anybody has any questions or helpful comments about the sword, please see my review thread.

This turned in to a nice horror story Had the same experience ordering my first sword. Took 6 months to recive. Had given up completely, then one day some guy just dumped it of at my door without a warning. But hey, got it atleast. Mostly order from resellers now, if they have the item in stock, ill usualy have it in 1-2 weeks afer ordering. Saves mutch stress... Congrats on getting it!

The system is good, as many other systems are. But when man is involved he’ll screw it up. It seems more so now than before as mediocrity tends to be the name of the game more so now than before.

Well that all sounds pretty frustrating. You guys have been through a lot. Having to wait months for a production sword would really take the blush off the rose for me.
And while I want my swords to have some functionality, as you may have guessed, I'm into the visually aesthetic appeal of it is well. If I just wanted it for cutting I could just get a sword from somebody who has whatever kind of blade i'm looking for in stock and ready to ship.
And if this second order of mine comes up less than stellar. Well...we'll see

I'm glad you got yours here's some additional pictures I took of mine. imgur.com/gallery/NVC2mniI think I should have gone with the green Ito and black or white same' that I could have stained to look boen(ish). And I'm not overly happy that they didn't follow my directions as far as the spacing of the etchings go. I think in that regard the Swords of Northshire, for production swords, probably does a better job, but then again they charge a lot more. Still hate not knowing for sure if I got 9260 steel or not. If I knew anybody who did it on the cheap I'd have an inch cut off the end, the tip reformed and send the piece out for analysis 😄. Hey, are these handles supposed to feel like you're holding an ax with almost nothing there, or is that just something that's particular to these less expensive production swords?

Hey, are these handles supposed to feel like you're holding an ax with almost nothing there, or is that just something that's particular to these less expensive production swords? It looks nice! I have a Northshire Ko Katana with green ito over black same, with a 9260 blade. It's quite nice for what it is, and goes well with the plain wood saya got with it. They did put the wrong tsuba wrong, but I can live with it. My Sinosword on the other hand, just arrived half polished after six months of waiting.
