Who has had the opportunity to fire a machine gun and which one or ones? I fired the M60. It is a nice weapon. I also fired the burst fire weapon M16A2. It was nice but the M60 was funner.

The only fully automatic weapon I’ve shot was a H&K MP5K. It’s a machine pistol. Put a couple of 30 rd mags through it. Was fun but would get very expensive to shoot real quick.

The 60 was fun once I got used to it. MP 5 was very controllable. AUG in burst was accurate and consistently controllable. Mac 10 was a joke, first 3 rounds might go near the target, everything else was a risk to aircraft only! 🤣

The one I always wanted a chance to shoot was the Stoner LMG. It’s a Vietnam era belt fed LMG and the forerunner of the SAW. |

When we tested them at the F-16 plant in Fort Worth (a less sophisticated and more fun process than USAF later came up with) some people compared it to a giant zipper being ripped. |
