Apparently you should bring a gun to a knife fight.
Arguing about a Macdonald order gone wrong, an employee and customer "took it outside"
Providence McDonald’s Employee Knifed Customer Who Complained About Food, According to Police
Squaring off outside, the customer calls out to his family to get his gun. Employee produces knife to effect.

Unless the customer has a carry permit for the gun, he is trouble if the gun was in the vehicle loaded (or with a yet un-inserted loaded magazine). The employee's knife was reported as small and 3 1/2" of blade, including automatics are lawful. The knife did not come into play until the call for a gun.
No fast food burger joints here in the wilds of northwest RI, where the deer and bear are safe to roam out of season and there is a designated turkey crossing near the high school. Most of the soccer moms pack more than a juice box and chuckle at how good or bad our two Dunkin Donuts handle their coffee orders at the drive through. A throw down over a bad order (even verbal) is unheard of and real debate is more about cutting in line at the drive though and not topping up blinker fluid. The main block downtown, the Pascoag 500. It is amazing that within an hour or so from the two largest cities of New England (Boston, Hartford) there is a down home value to our villages here.
At any rate, the McD in question will probably see a boom business.
Cheers
