Ok, I'll admit it - I am jinxed... At least when it comes to Windlass swords... I haven't reviewed one personally in a long, long time because everytime I do, they end up getting discontinued... Well, recently - I reviewed a sword that I had been sitting on (um, not literally! Lol!) for 1 year. It had been in production for as long as I could remember, so after 1 year more you'd think it would be safe... Right? WRONG! Literally 2 weeks after I did my review of the Forgotten Realms Fantasy sword Twinkle, yup - you guessed it, it has now been officially discontinued...! Now I've had some conversations with some of the folk at Windlass and they are great people. But please, guys, if you are reading this STOP DISCONTINUING swords after I review them!!! Argh...!!!!!!

Whoa, what an awesome power you've discovered! Now you can just review all the Windlass swords you don't like, then they'll be forced to carry the ones you do forever because that's all they'll have left!

Thats a good one Paul,... maybe you can use your "curse" for good and review as many SLO's as humanly possible? Then all we'd need is a spotlight, and some sort of design to put on it so when we need you we can just point it at the sky and wait.... hehehe! [In cool movie preview guy voice]> "from now on P.S. no longer stands for post script..... It stands for Paul Southren, the Production Stopper! hehehe! ;D

They've been in the closeout section all summer and on sale at various vendors. A sure sign.
I have a feeling they were listed for so long because they did a large initial run and they simply never sold. Not unlike the Heron Mark sword. Windlass has scaled back considerably and it is not unusual now to see models cycling through the closeout section after a couple of years (even sooner in some cases). Some they have had a hard time keeping in stock and are popular sellers. I had to wait some three months for my Patton some years ago.
They did bring back the Dutch Cutlass and it was entirely due to demand. I'm sure if they received enough interest they might bring back just about anything but the market has to follow through for this to work. No one wants to hold onto inventry these days and a manufacturer/exporter isn't likely to play the "fool me twice" game more than once.
If anyone has a line on the whole Prince Valiant ensemble Windlass sold, drop me a line. There was a helmet, shield and sword with scabbard. They were nothing special but just a nice looking (to me) set.
Cheers
Hotspur; there have been a few I have almost bought just for the scabbard
