Hello, I am thinking of ordering an Albion sword with either blackened or antiqued hilt furniture. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of their own Albions with these features they would be willing to share? thanks.

A little forewarning; Antiqued will get you an artificially aged guard & pommel, including pitting and blackening.

Yes I saw that one. That is actually what got me to think about this topic, as I thought it was very nice looking.

I agree, it looked great. There's some swords they make that look particularly fine with the alternative finishes.
The Baron, for instance, looks amazing with the antiqued finish here.
And the Machiavelli looks great blackened. I want to get one of these and get a scabbard made that's pretty much all black for what I think would be a really cool look.

Ya know, I like that grey on the Baron. Maybe if it had just a bit less pitting maybe. But the color on that sword is really nice with the grip color.

When Albion does blackened furniture it's cleaned up to a basic polish and then sandblasted back down before chemical bluing is applied. With antiquing Brian has it right. They do the same basic polish, then sandblast and beat it up before using chemical browning and bluing.
If you are ordering directly from Albion and you like the antiquing color but not the roughed up finish, you can always call them and ask to skip that part.
