I'm jealous of that Swiss 1867 Cavalry Trooper in the first post. That and the mounted Officer are on my bucket list. I have a mint dismounted officer already. The mounted officer is a wonderful sword. If you see one pop up available, grab it and don’t let go!

Windlass 1850 Union Staff & Field Officer’s Sword. This is quite nice actually. No rattling, everything straight and solid. The hilt components are nicely done and tightly fitted, the tang seems substantial, it is peened. Balance is ok, the sword is quite heavy, but well manageable, if you like some good power. Of course the blade could use more taper, like all repro sabers in this price range. The taper on this is pretty linear, which is also rather common with comparable repros. The fullers could use more refinement, with more depth at their verges. The edge is blunt with quite steep bevels, which all adds up to the weight. The blade is very stiff, yet retains flexibility. The grip was too slim and narrow for my taste, easily fixed by some felt pieces and tennis grip wrap. Came with a nicely done steel scabbard.
Overall my favorite repro saber so far. Repro Sabers I used to own include the Windlass Confederate Cavalry Officer’s Saber (which I liked), CS 1917 Saber (earlier version, a total zombie crusher, a cool thing, lol), Windlass American Revolution Saber (didn’t like that at all), Windlass 1860 Cavalry Saber (not really great, imo), CS 1796 (not bad), Windlass Shamshir (quite nice imo), several cutlasses/hangers from various makers. They get the repro cutlasses done better than the sabers. Less blade length to get stuff wrong on.

A light and agile British P1821/45 Royal Artillery Officer’s Sword (unknown maker) and a later British Royal Artillery Officer’s Ceremonial Sword, made by Wilkinson. Although meant for parade, this one feels quite substantial, and would make for a nice fencer/fighter with its nicely curved and stiff blade. No scabbard for the former, plated steel scabbard for the latter. Attachments:

A French M1845/55 Infantry Officer’s Sword, no sheath. Very lovely in the hand, very maneuverable, with excellent weight distribution for actual fighting – a close pob, but lots of mass at the cop. Service-sharpened.
A British P1821/45 Royal Artillery Officer’s Sword, made by Pillin. No scabbard. These swords used to have back-straps, but this one is missing that back-strap. It has been modified in the past to have a new wooden grip, which is very nicely shaped and fits tightly. The hilt seems very robust, even without the back-strap. The whole sword feels like an excellent weapon for battle. Service-sharpened. Attachments:

Danish infantry officer’s sword. Very light and quite nimble. The blade is plenty stiff, offers some good percussive power and is well suited for both cut and thrust. Marked Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie., Solingen on the left and with a crown and the numer 11 on the right side of the ricasso. Unsharpened. No scabbard.

Unknown “Briquet” style saber. No markings. Perhaps German, perhaps a sword for police. Perhaps infantry. Remains of bluing. Unsharpened. Very light and agile. Blade quite stiff, though. A joy to handle. No sheath. Attachments:
