I’ve got a set of fittings from the printed armory that I’ve been wanting to do something with. Inspired by a recent play through of Shadow of War I thought it would be fun to do a fantasy style sword. Is there a way to make the fittings look like bronze? I know I can try some spray paints but I wanted to see if anyone knew of a way to “dye” or stain the steel to get a more realistic look. Thanks for any help!

I did a quick video on this years ago, I'll see if I can find it. But essentially you can heat up the part with a propane torch, not cherry red or anything, and then use a brass wire brush and "scrub" the brass onto the part. I'm not sure if they make a bronze wire brush, but I've found that my brass parts turned a darker color over time. Edit: here's the link I'll get you a pic tomorrow of what the guard and pommel look like after 9 years of cutting fun

imgur.com/a/OzyKnBXThe above images are 9 years after doing the brass treatment, looks kinda like aged bronze, but I sand blasted the parts first, so the resulting finish will look a bit more weathered
