Hey guys! Anyone have any Lord of Battles stuff? I saw some maces and axes on KOA that look interesting but I can't find any decent reviews. Do they make decent stuff or is it low quality junk? Thanks.

I don't have any experience with their weapons, but their maille is exactly as advertised. I have come into contact with a fair number of their non-weapon items (armor and bucklers) all were solid. Does that help?

I’ve got their long rondel dagger. Nicer than I expected at the price point. I had to do a bit of work on the tip to make it go through fabric reliably, but that was about 3 minutes work with a file. The steel is nicely hard, the fit and finish is quite good for a lower status weapon, and the suspension on the simple leather sheath is not too horribly anachronistic.
I’m not sure if mine is representative or if I got lucky, but I’d hazard another purchase if something caught my eye.

I have their Medieval Mace which I like a lot. It's surprisingly nimble. I haven't done any stress testing but the mounting is very solid. I think at this point it would be my favored anti-zombie weapon, you know, for when that time comes.

I've their Ragnar Viking Axe (an axe designed to be similar to the Ragnar Lodbrok axe from the Vikings TV show) I do like the way the leather decorates it, and I picked it up for that reason (I've never had a use for the show). The wood is not to my liking — it's completely round like a toilet plunger. I chopped a walking stick made of olive wood down into a cane with it, and in the process the blade became noticably duller. At first I was surprised, but later discovered olive wood is greatly harder than ash, and even hickory (Janka hardness scale around 2,700). Kult of Athena lists it's metal only as “high carbon steel.” Overall I don't like the axe greatly, and it's not something I'd replace. I do not regret the purchase. I still like the look of the leather design, and I might try using it to guide me in decorating a different axe. It looks decent on a wall, but not as a centerpiece. I remember being very excited to order it; it was the first time KoA emailed me to let me know an item I was interested in was restocked, and I have a nice memory from that. I'd not sell it or trade it for that sentimental value. ❤️ Attachments:

I have their 12th to 14th century medieval mace. I like it a lot. It's solid, but I haven't tested it on hard targets. I added a leather grip after this pic.

One thing I like is that is slips comfortably and securely into a belt, no sharp points or edges to cut your hand on. And it deploys quickly, too.

Looks awesome. I have my eye on the double bladed battle axe but it's currently on backorder.

I recently purchased the Double Ball Flail and the Gothic Hand axe. Both look pretty good for the price. Seems solid construction. The flail is really just for show. I could not see using one as it is so tip heavy to be uncomfortable. But will be nice to hang on the wall. The axe feels real nice in my hand. Seems a rugged but firm construction. I will probably swing it around a bit this weekend and ee how it does. I made a little video.

Here is a video of cutting with the Gothic Hand Axe. I started sharpening it but it has allot of work to go. It came very dull and even with the Worksharp there is allot of material to remove.

Your form is improving, some body english always helps. Glad to see your growth since the last video. I noticed from the videos that you experienced the same that I found with my axe. With the longer blade on a sword I can slice during a cut making it more effective, something I can’t do with my axe resulting in a less effective chopping or push cut. Thanks for showing your new toys and sharing your impressions.
