If anybody has handled both of these swords, how do they compare to each other? They have similar stats, and I know I want to get one of them. Is there a factor that will help me decide?

I only own the Hanwei. I’m looking forward to the comparisons.

I've been seriously considering the Gale Wind so I'd love to hear more as well.

If anybody has handled both of these swords, how do they compare to each other? They have similar stats, and I know I want to get one of them. Is there a factor that will help me decide? Probably the only incisive factor will be aesthetic as the GW can be folded while SR comes only in mono. Stats and shape wise they are almost identical. GW / SR Steel: 65m (mono or folded) / 5160 mono Total length: 97cm / 100.5cm Blade length: 77cm / 73.5cm Weight: 1000g / 954g The GW has the upper hand due to the folding pattern which looks beautiful but in terms of practicality I'd prefer the SR due to a slightly longer handle (but that depends on your style, in my case I feel better with a longer hilt). If you don't mind the folded pattern, and assuming you can find them at similar prices, it really comes down to "do you prefer a red same or a blue cord".

I just bought two LK Chen swords myself. I am hoping to have reviews up this week. While I don't have the Gale Wind I can recommend the company on customer service grounds.

How does the build quality compare? I’m also interested in buying one of these swords… I’ve read that the Hanwei sometimes has issues with the handle being loose? Have you experienced anything like this?

My handle/grip was tight. It did loosen when I cut with it one time, but I tightened it up and it was fine after that (it was a nut) and never loosened again.

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

Also about the same price point is the Cold Steel Gim (slightly less $ actually). Of those three (Gale Wind $355, Striking Jian $315 and CS Gim $240) which do you think?
I'm in exactly the same quandry, actually. The Cold Steel seems to have QC issues, as do a lot of these. Hanwei and Iron Tiger Forge have zinc or cast metal fittings and Jkoo, while having better brass fittings, apparently some are just glued on, plus they have the hollow handle issue, where if the pins were to break, you'd have a rotating blender instead of a sword. The TFW/BCI offerings seem really good, but a bit pricier. Of course, all these are subject to availability.
The LK and the Rodell are the best choices and most consistent quality. I've seen 3 reviews now that complain about the Rodell pommel coming loose and needing Locktite, plus the fact he reviewed and said the LK is a good sword himself and a similar price.
I'm leaning towards the LK. I haven't seen a bad review yet and, without an actual one to handle and test, obviously, this is all we have to go on.
