Sadly, it seems you only read the start of that previous discussion, and not the resolution, I advise you to examine the entire situation before stating your opinion.

You are (of course) entitled to your opinion. I feel that, like Sam said (a little tactlessly at the end of his reply though) perhaps you did not read all the threads that led up to and came after Clyde's response that has irked you so much, so that perhaps you are only getting part of the story... As to actions being taken to silence you - your account was temporarily suspended because you seemed to be becoming increasingly belligerent against the mods who did what they thought was best under the circumstances. We don't silence people or permanently ban anyone here unless they break the basic rules of the forum which is basically, to keep it all friendly and civil. There is a big difference between respecting the mods and being silenced for speaking up about something... So as long as everyone keeps cool we can discuss anything. 'Kay? Thanks, - Paul

Jack,
I hope you are aware that mr. Hollis did apologize and nobody said his behavior was okay - we did accept his apology and move on. He did make amends with every single customer that I am aware of that got a poor product out of the bad batch. His products since that time have seen very few failures.
I've had the pleasure of reviewing two new prototype models - both are tough and durable, with well heat treated steel. Are they perfect? No - but perfection can't be had for the price point of gen2 products. They are far from junk however, and if I was asked to i wouldn't hesitate to use one in a real battle (though of course if i had access to something like a high end albion or atrim i'd prefer those).
What I'm trying to say is - Gen2 is a low-mid range manufacturer of swords and his products fit that role. In most cases even going beyond what one can expect at this price point. Yes they've had their issues - but so has every manufacturer. Even Albion themselves had an issue or two that I can recall.
So Gen2 isn't immune to ever having a few bad ones mix in with the rest - we acknowledge that. Clyde is a good guy - a great guy even. He slipped up and overreacted - so have we all at this point. What matters is that he made it better for his customers that received an inferior product and he apologized for any mistakes he'd made.
This is where we're coming from. He's made amends for his error, but you've dredged it up and said some pretty harsh things regarding what happened without acknowledging what he'd done to make amends - this is unfair treatment. We all screw up - and we all need to take responsibility for it- In this I think you and I agree.
I hope you also agree that if a good man makes a mistake but makes good and takes responsibility for it, then he can be forgiven.
Sam: More harsh than you could have been, eh?

Isn't this like the third time hes posting this?
Trolling gets annoying after a while.
Flamewars are only fun to watch if the bait gets changed once in a while.

lol nice one sword boy lolol
Just my chiming in, but why do you have so much hostility towards Clyde. Waltz I could see if you had actually been a customer of Gen2 and had gotten a lemon, and then terrible Customer Service. But you haven't you've just read part of a very old post on a forum. A forum which STILL supports this MAN and his COMPANY.
Like I said just my thoughts, but if you want to have a Valid Opinion on this company, then make a purchase, test it out, and if you find good reason to be unsatisfied then people here will be much more willing to listen to your gripes. Just they need to be founded is something

Very nice SB and yeah, clyde's awesome. Good CS, solid products and very very good attitude.(I actually bought my first sword from them BECAUSE of some of those articles you've read.. a man willing to admit his faults AND eagerly accepts criticism, and act upon it, deserves my money) P.S. Axe: the button you are looking for is beside your pinky.

It seems the original post was deleted? Not that I'm complaining... Seems like the original post in a couple of threads has been deleted. I wonder if the whole thread should be nuked if the OP deletes the original posts. Threads without the original post don't seem to serve much of a purpose other than to create some confusion over the whole topic.

In any case I'd lock this if I had the power in this section.
We disagree with Jack, and yes he could've worded his opinion a little bit better to not be quite as offensive, but then, a lot of posts have been very offensive right back...so... calm down everyone.
I'd prefer not to see any more posts here, as, like it has been stated, the only thing that will come of this now is a flame war.

Can't blame him. I vote to chalk it up to a learning experience and delete the whole thing.

I don't think it should be deleted.
Encounters like this are what really express who we are as a forum - I say let it stand as a representation of the character here at SBG.
Going around hiding every little thing that we don't like is just going to create the ever more realistic illusion of perfection, when clearly, we are not.
