Here’s a video from KHHI of making a kukri. It surprised me to some degree because of the high technology involved, yet a lot of hand craftsmanship went into it as well. The design came from a computer as well as a computerized milling machine was involved. The knife was cut from bar stock with no forging involved. I see no eye protection and the sparks at times really fly. There is concern about their lungs as a bandana or a mask is worn most of the time. . They do have a man on the payroll that will make you one from forge to finish with no mechanical tools. His name is Chakra Bahadur BK and his price 75-100 USD depending on size. He wants to stop at 13”.

Extremely interesting video. Thank you. It seems the most labor intensive part was the handle. Classic Nepalese teapot temper- bring the blade to a certain color and then pour water over the edge :)
If a KHHI is CNCing the blades, I can scarcely imagine the level of automation on the mass produced chinese swords...
