As the title above mentions, I’m looking for a budget wakizashi. Ideally under €100, I have no issues with ordering internationally but if I can find a domestic EU vendor it would be even better.
In terms of the sword itself, at the moment I’m looking for some with some ornamental value (so no ‘tactical’ designs unfortunately), a decent blade length (18-32”), and some ability for practical application, so being able to cut harder materials such as bamboo without fear of the blade breaking at the handle, although this would be a very occasional use for this piece so I’m not looking for anything with amazing functionality.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I could possibly stretch my budget slightly but I’d prefer not to at the specific moment, and express shipping is also a plus. If design wasn’t an issue I’d likely go with the Cold Steel piece.
Also, does anyone know if Sinosword still offers good value products in 2020 or are there better vendors out there at the moment?

Look up "wakizashi" on the internet. Contact them. Decide for yourself. Wak blades generally 18" to 22" Handles 7" to 10". 1060 is a solid mode ground. You can spend 2,000 on L-6. To cut bamboo, you only need 1045 with some technique.

This one may suit your needs: www.sinosword.com/wakizashi-short-sword.html#!/Unokubi-9260-steel-wakizashi/p/223598451/category=42951224 Normally, when properly heat treated, it’s a great steel to cut bamboo. From what we’ve seen this year, it’s not uncommon for Sinosword to ship swords with some flaws. But the budget is very reasonable and their customer service is okay so it’s probably worth the risk.

Sinoswords seems to be a bad option at this time. At least two SBG members are seeking legal/law enforcement options to get money back for unfulfilled sword orders. See more in the Japanese Swords subforums...

That being said, while Sinosword is no better choice than most Ebay re-sellers quality wise, they do have a good customer service.

Yep, that's my mistake. Sorry for the false flag.

Thanks, this is what I ended up going with in the end and it should be here by the end of the years, fingers crossed. I researched for hours and the sources within Europe were seriously limited and I’d be getting a subpar blade for almost double the price from someplace like Katanamart which ships from Italy I believe.

Hopefully topic author don't mind if I ask here some questions:) I also looking for wakizashi in Europe, my budget is 300-500 eur. I don't plan to make any cuttings with it, but I don't like things that can't do what they are made for. So wakizashi have to be: sharp, made of 1095, T10 or similar steel, with real hamon(!) and it would be perfect if it Damascus, but not necessary. It's also ok to buy wakizashi in shirasaya. After spending month or more in search I have found only Hanwei Practical Plus Wakizashi in PL store - sztukiwalki.goods.pl/product/description/254/Hanwei-Practical-Plus-Wakizashi-SH2118.html#.X_MiaOCxW_uBut I don't like it There are also some wakizashi in katanamart, but their wakizashi have short tsuka. Most EU online stores that I have found have katanas only. P.s. sorry for my English, it's not my native language, and I wasn't very careful on lessons

The Knight Shop - purchased a Hanwei Ronin katana, came in pristine condition, everything was perfect. Advice to swords enthusiasts, do proper research about websites, check the reviews online etc don't fall for the many scam websites. Check addresses, phone numbers, how many different payment methods they accept, the more the better etc. Southern Swords is legit as well.
Also looking for some genuine UK websites which have some good options of wakizashi, but very few options out there.

If I recall, Alientude has had a couple reviews of YariNoHanzo product and had positive things to say. I think they generally sell iato, but you can get sharpened product if you contact them directly.
