You gonna keep it as bent? Cause I love it. Looks not only like a wicked chopper, but it also feels like an amazing fighter

Looks more like an extra long #19 Bushmaster grind with a deep #1 choil. Wide enough for slapping bacon Cheers GC

Is that goatskin wrap on the sheath? Water buffalo? I can't tell the difference.
The khukuri GGK sent me (balanced 11" goatskin) is brown in color - not mottled, not camo, not orange, not black. I love it. Is it the color of the leather that makes it ganjawal? Or quality of leather? Or markings on the leather? Or the style?
I was looking at doing a custom scabbard on Purna's site (along with a custom khukuri), but I can't tell the difference. Browsing tells me "ganjawal" is a village, not a type of leather or style or technique.
I guess I can tell him "use the same wrap as the 11" balanced". But I'd like some markings on it, similar to what I've seen labeled as "ganjawal" on their higher end offerings.

Keep on rolling, Brother Nat. Good Keating inspired stuff right there, and he's a hell of a fine influence.

Interesting builds but I've got to ask. In your lead post to the thread, your specifications read (in part) as • Blade finish: Polished.
What I am seeing on both blades is a fairly coarse and fairly unfinished forge finish. Is this intentionally coarse, or is this what is to be expected of the maker's polished finish? It seems to me other stuff from him seems much more finish ground and polished.
Am I just not seeing something? Or seeing something I really not?
Cheers GC

I'm shying away from mirror polishes. They entail more labor and reveal flaws. Ergo more expensive.
But I will probably change that policy when I'm less broke.

It is these two pictures that had my attention. i.imgur.com/3aw7YyF.jpgi.imgur.com/THRhAwS.jpgIt just seemed to me that the grinding was not complete, as there are pits, even in the pommel. I don't see that as typical of what the smith has produced and shown here. Cheers GC

I'm with edelweiss on this one. I own one of Purna's kukris (11" balanced) and I can say this one doesn't look up to standard. It does indeed look pitted. Mine is flawless.
But, I'm a n00b, so what do I know.
