What's everyone's experience with QC on Cold Steel tomahawks? I just got in one of their Viking hand axes, and I noticed the blade has a scallop to it: It's hard to see in the picture, but it's more noticeable to the naked eye, and I tested it with a straightedge as well. Spent a few minutes trying to bend it straight with no luck. I cut the handle down to 22" before I noticed the bend so I couldn't return it even if I wanted to, but even if I could I don't think it's worth the effort. And yes, that is a spot of roll on a brand new axe that has never split anything. Anyone else have this experience? Is there a good way to straighten it, or do I need to just live with it?

Well... it's the kind of thing you could legitimately complain to QC about and expect some replacement.
But I wouldn't bother. Go throw it into a log round or tree 1,000 times, then file a new edge on. You'll get your money's worth.

I think if it has a good temper on it, trying to bend it into another shape would not be an easy or worthwhile thing to do. Put a better edge on it yourself if you can. It actually looks straighter than many axes I have bought, especially hand made ones.

I'll reach out to the seller and see if they'll send me another. I question if they'll honor it though, since I cut the handle down. I suppose I could always reach out to Cold Steel directly, but I would expect them to refer me to the seller.

My viking hand axe also came with a visible differential temper line and a surprisingly hard edge. So no, you'd never be able to bend it true.
