I decided it's about time I treated myself again, so purchased the 12th-17th Century quillon dagger from the Tod Cutler range.
I've been eyeing this one for some while, so thought I'd go for it. Like all the products by Tod, very nicely crafted, with a cord and leather bound grip/handle, and comes with a lovely leather sheath.
All a very good package for the price. I went for the sharpened option.

Just last week I placed an order for the other quillon dagger (14C) offered by Tod Cutler.

Beautiful. I've budgeted in for two weeks from now his "14th - 15th Century Bollock Dagger with Dot and Circle Grip" I plan to get it sharp as well. This just makes me wish I could afford to get it sooner!

Oh wow! Very reasonable! Both quillion daggers and that stiletto will be coming to the US very soon ...

This website is very VERY bad! I bought 2 swords and 2 daggers now since joining. Both daggers are Tod Cutler's, the stiletto and the 14th century Quillion (the inch longer version of this one). 15% off man! But I think I'm done now. Been an expensive Christmas!

Question about Tod Cutler's knives and shipping to the U.S...I bought two knives and when I go on his site it says,
"USA/Rest of the World
Standard shipping is by Royal Mail International tracked and signed for or courier whichever is appropriate and where available Tracked/Signed or both will be used.It is not always possible to have goods fully insured. If you would like a quote for this please add this to your notes on your order and you will be billed separately if necessary.
Please note all duty and Tax is required to be paid by the customer in their destination country. This may be required by customs before delivery but we cannot be responsible for non-delivery due to non payment of tax/duty or items being stopped at customs. It is the customers responsibility to check as to whether or not the goods are legally allowed into the country. "
I'm sure people here from the U.S. have ordered his items before. I'm in Florida if that matters. I've never gotten knives from the U.K. before so I don't know the procedure or what to expect. Are there are forms I need to fill out or customs or duty taxes I need to pay beforehand? How do I fill out a form for an item that won't be here for 3 weeks? Florida is pretty open as far as knife laws go, but who knows? Will I need to sign for these when they get here?

OK, cool. Neither dagger was over $150 so hopefully I won't have to pay any extra. Just in case, I guess DHL delivers it? Do they ask for payment before they give it to you? Do you have to sign for it or is it something that, if there are no extra fees, they'll just leave on my doorstep?

And BTW, holy craparoni on that sword! That may be the most beautiful thing I've seen in a LONG time! Wow!

I ordered the quillion dagger earlier this year. I didn't have to sign for it or anything. It shipped from the UK and made it to the US in about 10-11 days.
Then it sat in US Customs in Chicago for 3 and a half months. :/
Happy to have it in my hands now. It's very nice and matches with my Hanwei-Tinker Early Medieval Arming Sword well.

Oh jeez. 3 1/2 months? Our p.o. on Orlando is notoriously bad about delaying and/or loosing stuff. I've got a bad feeling..

I typically get Royal Mail Air to USPS UK items within ten business days, sometimes sooner. That is through NY customs to New England. It may show a lull in a clearing house after customs waiting for the bin for your region to fill up. FL shouldn't be an issue. DHL from the middle east was laser quick but did need a signature.
If it goes through USPS, enroll in Informed Delivery and apply an electronic signature (as large as possible so the carrier can read it).
If an item goes surface (ship) from abroad, it can take seemingly forever. A very cordial seller omitted that information when dispatching the sword to me and it took a couple of months from France. Another from France went air mail to USPS and I had it in five business days.
Cheers GC

My two came today. Less than 2 weeks from the UK! Very very pleased. Peen is very neat on the quintillion and not a lot of gap where blade meets the hilt. Fairly sharp but he states final sharpening to be done by owner and it's fine for my tastes. I'd recommend both ,but especially the quintillion.

So, is it my imagination or did Tod make this dagger as the perfect companion to the ATrim arming sword? Attachments:

Well I'll be, I never knew the two looked so good together. If it ever gets restocked I may have to get that dagger, along with several others, as a companion piece for my sword as well.
