Hi all, new member here. If you missed my intro thread, I'm an aspiring illustrator. Have a look at some of my work. ;D (DeviantArt doesn't allow hotlinking, so I'll just have to post links) I hope this is considered on-topic. They're not sword designs per se, just artwork featuring swords. Talhoffer, 1467, Plate 6Talhoffer, 1467, Plate 236 (hand drawn copies) Gothic Knight (T-shirt design commissioned for an Australian reenactment group) ConfidenceElf Warrior ScoutOryCon 29 (commissioned convention ad)

Have you seen that there is an artistic contest going on right here on the forum?
Check out the Cafe press competition: /index.cgi?board=competitions&action=display&thread=5948
Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing an entry!

Yeah, I saw that. I've been mulling over a few ideas for it in my head.

YEAH! 3,5 and 6 be my faves. 3 & 6 seem Arwen Sword indpired, but lovely none the less. You make me want to run out and make some swords!
Please post any other smart designs you have. Plenty of web space for you... I'll reserve my karma til you post some more. (blackmail)

Yesss, good job all around! I love to see this sort of stuff, and this is no exception.
I, like Brenno, especially like 3, 5 and 6. Love the Hadhafang inspiration here, and it looks original on top of that. Given the chance, I'd snatch up 6 in a heartbeat.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys! 3 and 6 are definitely Hadhafang (Arwen's sword) inspired. 3 is practically copied and 6 is a more personal take on it.
By the way, if anyone wants to make a sword based on one of these designs, feel free. Just post pictures so I can see.

As requested, I sketched up a few more designs. I've never seen a basket hilted longsword, so I designed one. Needs some refinement, I think, but it has promise. Normally, I don't go in for overly decorated or sculptural fantasy swords, but I thought I'd try my hand at one anyway. I designed these daggers several years ago, but don't have any drawings of them on my hard drive, so I drew them again. I call them the Raven's Claws. They're meant for a drow assassin character I made up.

Very kool. I like all of those. BW would be into the basket hilted longsword. +1

Actually the drow blades are my favourites but I would take either the basket hilt or the fancy blade.
John: Would you be ok with someone having any of your designs actually made, as long as the credit for the design goes to you?

Any one who wants to make a sword based on any of the sketches posted here has my permission, as long as they give me credit for the design and send me pictures (or post them on the forum) of the finished product.
