There will be a real good set with Jeff Healey and SRV Jimi. So many are jamming out there. Eddie and Steve are truly the same age group

There is always the arguments about SRV or EVH being the "best". SRV was supreme at blues playing, Eddie was a bona-fide rock god. Both of them pushed the boundaries of their genres and inspired countless people to start playing music.
I get a tired of those sorts of discussions because it's rather meaningless at the end. At the end of the day there is enough room in music for both of them to be appreciated, and I think if you were to ask the players themselves, they would say the other guy was better.
Reading over the tributes from other rock artists and entertainers is heart warming. It seems nobody has anything bad to say about Eddie, and all of them say he was an inspiration and a game-changing guitar player.
Damn, I always hate hearing about somebody from my youth passing away, but this time it really hits close to home. Van Halen's music, look, and attitude formed my world view at the time and all my friends were trying to be like them. Losing Eddie is like a losing a little piece of me.

I like the bluesy styles of guitar playing where you can feel every note and it isn't just about how fast you can pluck the strings but the use of silent space for emotive effect. The other innovative styles are pretty cool too. RIP EVH. And SRV (one of my personal faves) was taken WAAAY to young.
