Don’t feel pregnant. I have the same problem. You did better than I usually do when going to a shorter blade.

Happens to me when I’m cutting with one of my wakizashi. Use to katana then after a miss or two I realize I have to take a step closer. Btw, always enjoy your videos. The area where you cut inside must be bigger than it looks in the videos because it seems you should hit the wall.

I used a bit of zoom in the camera, which made the surrounding looks closer I guess. No wall hitting so far (touch wood). During the students sparring, though, they did hit the wall and we have a rule that whoever touches the wall die. So it becomes a tactic for them to pin the opponent's sword to the wall for an easy win.

Robert came over to test cut the forearm and upper arm / shin difficulty target with his Neighborhood Sword T10 katana.
He is a JSA student. This kinda show how difficult our targets are.

That's why it's called "practice " The only thing that worries me is at 1:28 the miss was followed by a wide over-swing indicating that the student didn't plan on stopping the sword and was expecting the target to stop it for him. This can cause loss of balance or something unintentional to be hit. Definitely needs some work on this. Practice makes perfect.

Tomorrow a friend of his from another ryuha will come to have a try on the forearm rolls, upper arm / shin rolls and a thigh roll. I'll take video too.
