Anyone here had any success doing this on steel katana blades? I'm seeing various methods, and I'm looking for one which requires the least amount of tools (i.e. no heat). I found this product on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Brownell-Formula-Instant-Gun-Blue/dp/B00IYZBWC8/I don't want to turn it blue (or dark blue) though. It's confusing when it says "blue" but it looks black. Anyhow, if anyone has blackened their steel sword in the past, would love to hear your story and how it panned out...

The Levin Lance Wow, nicely done. Was that done with the Duracoat? If so did you use the liquid application or the aerosol (spray) application? If the liquid application, did you soak the blade (diluting the solution in distilled water?)or apply the liquid directly with something? Thanks for the links!

I've used Blue Wonder (the black formula) on an Atrim 10-12 years ago. It came out perfect ! Easy to achieve the desired shade and you just use a hairdryer and a sponge brush. Sorry no pics, I sold it a long time ago but, I can't praise it enough. www.bluewonderguncare.com/
