REALLY cool, thanks for sharing. It looks like a full metal tang, the kind that you would peen bolsters to. That's something I've never seen on a modern Jian. Is it just me, or does that look long? A two-handed jian could be that long, but the handle looks too short for two hand. Then again, I'm speaking anecdotally.

I wonder what a full size feather-folded copy of that would cost, and if I'd ever have the guts to cut mats with it?
Would you please post the link to the news item on that, so I can follow it back to the archaeological publication?

This is a representation by Mr. Easton of a modern replica of such a single handed Han Jian.
And for a slightly shorter version by Mr. Skallagrim

Very cool! I am also curious about the exact specs of the sword.

My biggest problem with available Jian is I've yet to see one with a good tang. Most I've seen are a threaded or peened tang. The gentleman in the 2nd video describes the but cap as being riveted on. I imagine it is riveted through a true tang. Looking at the LK Chen website, many of their Jian look similar, with varying lengths. Can anyone speak to the tang on these swords? Pictures?

Excuse me, all this sales info on LK Chen is very cool, I'm sure, but how about a link to where you got the photo you posted first. My interest is purely archaeological.

Thanks for the manufacturing links. I'm sorry I created a distraction. I second treeslicer's request for a link to the original article. I tried to Google "Search By Image" to find the article, but no dice (or sword, or grave).
