I'll get some pics up when I get the chance. After all my machete and kukri work, a two-hander feels like learning to walk on my elbows. My first target, of course, was the shipping box, which the dao zipped right through. It didn't care to do much to bottles, but after some work on the edge with the samurai shark, it slips right through PETE bottles so that the bottle barely moves and the water falls in one collumn out the bottom. My tech is still pretty rough, though. For a US$60 sword, I am super happy. THe weight seems right, the handle wrap is better than I had hoped or expected, and it is just so neat. More as I get more acquainted with it.

Do they still make these? I think Trueswords had them, but have told me that production ended...

Ah, the 4-pound Dadao; Thana said that it was quite heavy, but the blade has the resonating "ding" sound. I'm hoping Musashi will bring back this dadao; I am still regretting the time when I've decided to try it out, and found that there are no more!!!
