LK Chen tested two of his classic Han Jian, the sharp diamond shape blade Flying Phoenix 795g and the sturdy octagonal shape blade Soaring Sky 796g

It looks like the fittings and scabbard on the Flying Phoenix has changed! When did this happen?
I like the new pommel but the chape on the end of the scabbard looks weird. Is there any historical examples of this type?

I quite like the new scabbard chape. It looks sleek and elegant, and it's different from the scabbards on the other LK Chen swords.

The chape and the way it's attached also look interestingly similar to Greek xiphos sheaths.
