Situation: The pole of your poleweapon has broken in battle at the head, no time to get a new one in the moment, you have no sideweapon like a sword or axe to fight on. What poleweapon head would you grip? The winged lance looks like a good short sword with a guard. The spontoon head looks dangerous too. The English bill looks versatile. The axe heads might have trouble with the spike. I'd take the spontoon.

Winged spear, boar spear or spontoon would all make for passable large daggers. Or any kind of spear, really.

I think you'd have issues with anything that is imbalanced like the halberds. The spears would work best IMO. But the other question... Your spear/glaive/halberd broke off at the socket. What are you doing with the pole? Might make a decent 'aww sh_t' blocking device while you try to run away...

Spears, and of the spears I'd go Boar because more cutting edge and very sharp, particularly the CS example.

What about a glaive or naginata?

Why not? I just tried to avoid polarms that look like a falchion/wakizashi mounted on a pole.

What about a glaive or naginata? Those would be great with naginata being tanto or waki like goodness.

Billhook! A socketed billhook head is still a very effective chopper without a shaft or wooden handle. Why not use the shaft though? Six foot or more of hardwood staff might be a better weapon than a short blade.

Can I choose to keep using the polearm's haft instead of the much shorter head? No?
I think most folks are making the right call going with one of the spearheads or the spontoon.

I'd take the bill hook, put it in my back pack and use my sidearm until I found a new pole.
