Those are some bizarre numbers on those antiques. Not every day a sword starts skinny, fattens up in the middle, and slims down again.

I've been intrigued by that CS Talwar for quite some time. Great distal taper (not a very common trait in less expensive reproductions) and a POB under 5".

Talwar #2 is definitely an odd duck, but I have actually read that this is not exactly super rare for there to be this sort of taper on some pieces. It's common on late 19th century munition talwars. Quick and lazy forging. Start with a lump and forge equally in both directions, and you naturally get this kind of taper. (I'll finally have time over the next fortnight to measure some of mine!)
