Hi everybody,
On a roll with the reviews lol. This one is on the Hana Katana by Dragon King, if you've been wondering how the quality control or overall build of Dragon King is please check out the video and let me know what you think!

I'm surpised this one isn't getting much attention, especially with all the threads asking about the build and quality of Dragon King. I get they're video reviews and some would rather read than watch. But I post these here like this so discussion can be had about the swords, no different than when I did written reviews. Honestly the pacing of my videos is not much different than one of my written ones, lol.

Great video review! History. Uses. Purposes. Construction. Outstanding "college professor" type discussion and review. Most educational. Should for sure be posted in the "newbie" section....lot of valuable info! Thanks! RinC

I'm one of those who prefers written reviews, because I seldom find myself in a place where watching a video is appropriate. I also prefer being able to quickly glance through and find the information most important to myself, and prefer to be able to zoom in on still photos when I want to see more details. Video reviews are good for quick impressions and to demonstrate movement and cutting, but I've only so much patience for anybody reciting a full essay on camera. I will check out the video when I can, though.

Thanks, Yea I break my videos down in three segments, 1: historical Overview 2: Statistics (very detailed and with legible written stats onscreen and additional pics of parts and such that the video doesn't show well) 3: Final thoughts and conclusion. Yea I've been working on cutting my videos shorter but you can definitely skip ahead and watch what you want as I break between each segment with clear headers.

I see Random's valid point. I confess I tend to a heavy photo review myself. But when I am washing dishes, fixing dinner, on a walk, in the workshop (not using power tools), I like more of an audio review. It is refreshing and quite nice to have a variety of review styles. RinC

Thats why Holger holds back with writing in-depth reviews for me. I dont know much enough for a serious sword review, and he considers it "too much work for nothing". Nice review of yours by the way. We had the cerry-bossom themed model some time ago and overall qulity of fit and finishwas very nice. It only was sold due to the pretty much standard width of the blade; we only keep or collect katana with wider blades by now.

Great review, really enjoyed the historical information alongside the specs and such.
Not a lot of info around about any of the Dragon King swords, surprising considering how nice they all seem. The Savior especially has my attention with its deeper than average sori. Can only find one single review of it though which seems so odd, could be mistrust of a 'new' brand I guess?

Thanks for the compliments, glad you enjoy the review. I know the reviews are sparse and those offered lack any real details on the swords themselves. That's why I really wanted to get this review out and give them a try in regards to purchasing one. The Hana was one of the few production katana I web browsed where all factors: Stats, Aesthetics and price met equally to were I had to purchase it. I think the problem is they are new and there are so many Katana manufacturers and or vendors out there that rather than it being a lack of trust its more they are simply overlooked.

This review will be very useful to me as I’ve been considering adding a Dragon King katana to kickstart my Asia collection

Yea I've never handled any other Dragon King model but if their fit and finish is consistent amongst all their models then you should be impressed.

Just got around to watching this, very much appreciate your statistical approach to reviewing. Curious as to your subsequent thoughts on the piece. They often change after use, practice & cutting. (one very minor nitpick...pronunciation on some terms was a little off...yeah I know, Japanese sword enthusiasts such as myself are a finnicky bunch )
As a quick add-on, I really think this is one of the best 'understated' designs I've ever seen on the production market. I in no way shape or form need ANOTHER production piece, but I still would nab one of these on sale just because it checks the "mellow and chill" vibe extremely well. Wish Hanwei/Dragon King would emphasize this approach more. Looks like a very fun sword to own, hope you enjoy it.

Thanks glad yoy enjoyed it. Yea my Japanese is a little rusty plus its hard enough speaking on camera let alone foreign dialects, lol. Its held up really well and I still have the same opinions on it, its just a well built and simple katana. Real frills but nothing weak either.

Nice review. I somehow missed this when it first came out. And again I like the fact that you give circumferences.
