I was hoping to get some info for shipping from the USA to Canada as its been a while since I've done it, should I put the piece as a Theater prop and keep insurance at a minimum as it has been requested of me for international to other countries? If anyone has anything to add lemme know, thanks!

I've never been hit by import fees on a sword shipped to me in Canada. I believe I've received paperwork with "sword" on the shipping label some with "sporting goods" (my preference) or "theater prop". One came to me with a very wordy description of its contents. That one was delayed by customs and opened.
Speaking only from experience, the word "gift" usually prefixing any sentence of what's in the box helps things move smoothly
(I make no claims on our customs practices, I offer only my opinion of what's been done in the past with me)
