Im looking at a Zombie Tools Diphos but the guard is too small for my taste and after speaking to them, they will not make a larger guard for me. Can ya'll recommend anyone for me to check with?

I thought ZT had a new custom line that could do something exactly like that.

In the email they sent me, they said they would not do it.

So from what ive been able to ascertain, i would need to have someone experienced to weld the additional material into place while keeping the rest of the sword cooled. ugh

Is the hilt assembly held together by pins? You could also knock the pins out, and fabricate new parts for it if so.

"mild" as in "soft"? Sorry, still dont know too much of the terminology.

It's a name for low carbon steel, not hardable by quenching. Nevertheless ok if used for the right things.

Mild steel should be softer than the tang. It should make them relatively easy to bore out. My concern would be whether the tang itself is too hard to handle having the pins punched out if the pins are too firmly set.
