IMHO, somebody had excellent sheet-metal skills, too much time on their hands, and a grossly inflated idea of what something like this is worth.

To be fair, though, something like this is worth exactly what someone will pay for it. And I'm sure there are people who would pay quite a lot to have one ring to grill them all...

Well at least four people bought it and gave it Five Star reviews. Probably more who just don't give reviews. We have some people here who work with metal, can you do it and cheaper ? I could probably do the mask but no way on the elvish writing cutouts on the base.

I feel that the mask on top is authentic art, and beautifully done, but this particular style of fire ring wouldn't suit my style at events. We already have a sturdy tripod to hang cauldrons from, and a separate ring with cover. It all looks suitably medieval, but without any specific "trendy" cultural references to date it.

I'm not too much of a LOTR nerd but having that going would make me feel like I set the eye of Sauron upon myself. I will stick to my non-evil wal mart grill.

You've either never tried to cut a fine design with a plasma cutter or you're thinking of the computerized one. There's a lot of skill and many hours of slag cleanup and edge filing to make something that clean.

Ive spent some time in structural and ornamental ironwork, so maybe I was being a little simplistic since I have some experience, but I stand by the statement. You're right that there would be quite a bit of dialing in but with a stencil on flat stock you would get the meat of it done.
