So... I was looking into getting a Royal Arsenal Dao from LK Chen.
Are there any special requirements from the buyer when shipping/importing a sword from China to the United States, specifically California? I am asking on here, since there are some members who have got Lk Chen's swords.
I have ordered some things from Finland in the past, and they went through customs without any issues from my knowledge without anything from me.
Hopefully my question makes sense.

There has been no problem in shipping from China to California that I have experienced.
Shipping from California to China is a big problem...packages go thru Shanghai Customs...there are workers there who steal sword shipments.
But at the moment, there is not a working shipper for China direct to California.
(Wuhan-virus reasons probably)
There is a more expensive shipper who can do China to East Coast of USA for higher price.
(normally for me, one sword, i.e. Jkoo/Sinosword in Longquan, China to me in Calif, $51usd...now, to send China to East Coast it is, one sword, $65usd and it has to be shipped to someone back east, who then is willing to ship it to Calif (double shipping fees almost...oh, joy /s)

No special action needed. Place order, pay, and wait for it to arrive. The only excitement I had with the shipping was with my local post office. The LK Chen folks also do a good job keeping you updated about where the package is in transit.
